For HVAC solutions in large-scale
buildings, installation space and the need for increased power capacity are
consistently the two primary challenges during project implementation. Issues
such as limited land availability, the "cold island effect" caused by
clustering units, soaring energy consumption during peak and off-peak loads,
and heating capacity degradation in low-temperature conditions frequently
complicate centralized energy supply for commercial complexes. In the winter of
2025, at the Hardware and Electromechanical City complex in Taiyuan, Shanxi,
BANDON’s compact, full DC inverter heat pumps successfully provided reliable
winter heating for a 200,000-square-meter area while occupying a footprint of
less than 300 square meters.

1. Large-capacity single units tailored to
the load requirements of large-scale complexes.
The project utilizes the BANDON 300HP
ultra-large-capacity inverter air-source heat pump, a model that currently
leads the industry in single-unit heating capacity. Compared to traditional
60HP ON/OFF units, this model significantly reduces the number of units
required and streamlines auxiliary components—such as valves, piping, and
filters—thereby substantially lowering the initial investment.

2. The innovative Y-shaped airflow channel
design eliminates the "cold island effect" within the unit.
The unit's signature Y-shaped, angled
CFD-simulated structure is the core design solution for the dense array's
"cold island" issue:
(1) The Y-shaped diagonal layout
significantly expands the air intake area, ensuring smooth airflow and
substantially reducing the unit's overall air resistance;
(2) Paired with an extended straight-duct
EC variable-frequency fan, it creates an upward-jetting exhaust airflow,
allowing the cool air generated during heating to rapidly disperse upwards.
(3) During actual long-duration unit
temperature testing, the cold island effect did not occur.

3. During the heating season, the system
operates at low frequency and high efficiency for 63.9% of the time.
The unit features eight independent
hot-standby systems capable of either coordinated full-load operation or
independent zone-based operation. Coupled with an all-DC inverter control
system, it enables wide-range modulation: during the heating season, the unit
operates at low frequency and light load for 63% of the time—matching the
building's daily partial-load requirements—thereby significantly reducing power
consumption and achieving a COP of up to 4.8.
Over the 150-day heating season, the
average electricity consumption—including the water pump—is 31 kWh/m².
